John Fehringer is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has grown out of a lifetime of looking closely, following patterns, and letting the question choose the medium.
Best known for his Alaska watercolors and gouache paintings, John built a long career in the Pacific Northwest through images that often appear photographic at first glance, then slowly reveal the hand, atmosphere, and distilled design beneath the surface.
His creative life has moved through watercolor, oil, pastel, photography, digital image-making, crafted objects, drawing, and experimental work. Rather than treating these as separate identities, John sees them as different tools inside one continuous studio.
This site is being rebuilt as a public doorway into that larger studio: selected works, older images, experiments, stories, process, and the ongoing thread of a life spent making things.
Some sections are finished. Others are still being shaped. The intention is not to create a static museum, but a living archive of image, memory, craft, and discovery.
